FOR A SORT-OF SERIES OF LITERALLY TONGUE-IN-CHEEK TALES.

To be degraded to look for respect.
To lie in order to grasp truth.
To cheat to understand trust.
To lose faith to find the soul.
To sin for forgiveness.
To be shallow to dive depth.
To be misunderstood to understand.
To die in order to live again.
To strip everything of its covers to find its true form.

What are men made of?
How does a woman take it all in
Why do we opt for
Broken dreams
Walls and ceilings
Empty holds
Not all
Not all.
There’s a man who deserves
All that’s best, sculpted from the worst
Tree of life, tree of knowledge
Adam, and Eve, and the serpent

Everything and nothing
Paradox

The price to pay
For this age of voyage
For pursuit of a diamond in the rough
For the search for salvation in damnation

Loud mouths
Rushed judgments
Whispered wanks
Crushed cardiacs
Wear and tear
Stigma and speech.

They don’t know
don’t know
don’t care
just scores
just

Past
is past
go for
the present
the future
what we are now
what we have
wisdom and heart
compassion and soul
readier now
readier for

you.

So I don’t have the hand to hit.
So I don’t have the will to hurt.
So I don’t have the drive to be understood
Only to understand
So I don’t have the heart of Brutus
Or the soul of Hitler
Or the self-righteousness of the commercial god
Or the judgement of the bored and naive
Or the mindset of these castrated boys.
So this is only me.
So what you see is what you get.
So there are no walls
So there is nothing
Only me
and the best there is
The goodbye of a butterfly to its cocoon.
So I won’t be as selfish —
