24. Throat for Phoenix (Fibonacci sequence)

DSC_0057ahhh

Hum
girl,
lissome
wild firebird.
I’ll match your feathers
(innate god-made scarlet letters).

I’ll perch with you another time so I won’t forget
Taste lies that burn between your legs
I’ll fly with you another time so I can’t forget
Your aftertaste like cigarettes
I’ll nest with my darker chances so you won’t forget

(Certain of the echoes sustained)
Sirens I can’t wish
To silence
Sing, girl
Your
best.

Manifesto

Manifesto

Slap me some sick shit
Something I’d dream about tonight
A wriggling worm through my head and ears
I’ll crawl unto you like an alien vine

Your fingers, my tremors
Your six strings, my flavors
Fresh cuts in past tense
Such gold words, my sentence

Scream me back my soul
Something that would swallow me whole
A piercing salve that transcends my skin
My Hippocratic Oath to my medicine

Your fingers, my tremors
Your six strings, my flavors
Fresh cuts in past tense
Such gold words, my sentence

Your fingers, my tremors
Your six strings, my flavors
Fresh cuts in past tense
Such gold words, my sentence

Your lines are my flight
And your scale is my sight
Your lines are my flight
And your scale is my sight
Let the grind begin
Let the grind begin
Be absolved from all our sins

THE STRAIT OF MESSINA

THE STRAIT OF MESSINA
Vivien Marie Lopez Jorillo
4/21/2012

Say hello to the most irrational of thoughts
For they come back with the most bizarre of anxieties
As you fidget more and struggle to question
This is where the patient becomes the therapist.

Quiet talks for affective lesions
From soliloquies that give birth to sessions.
What we know about answers and indecision
We learn from dreams, deities, and demons.

You’d dive and swim to the abyss of humanity
You’d see the trenches cut by the fluorescence of fishes of the deep sea
You save your breath only to reach the ocean floor
Give up & let go when the only way up is for your lungs to burst.

No waves, just the current, the steady whisper of pressure
Eating your ears, tight as seizures
This is the burden of Prometheus
Cross of Atlas and the first of the frontiers of the cerebrum.

Quiet talks for affective lesions
From soliloquies that give birth to sessions.
What we know about answers and indecision
We learn from dreams, deities, and demons.

Say hello to the most irrational of thoughts
For they come back with the most bizarre of anxieties
As you fidget more and struggle to question
This is where the patient becomes the therapist.

You’d find land, go back to the troposphere
The topography as clean as clever, blind seers
You’d thank civilizations and trust the genius of mankind
Fall back when the peaks that touch heaven are measurable in height.

Thin air, just ice, flags, the wrath of Boreas
Screaming at your back, hard and unforgiving as Scylla
And between it and Charybdis, this is the ring of Aeolus,
Fan of Atlas and the skin of the frontiers of the cranium.

The SWARM OF THE MONARCH BUTTERFLIES

The Swarm of the Monarch Butterflies

by Vivien Marie Lopez (c) 2012

(Author’s note: This was born when my dreams last night self-explained that the ghosts that haunt us depend on how frightening or evil we choose them to be.

We perceive others based on the way we perceive ourselves.)

Verse 1

This rush for interpretation

This interest in inspiration

This attraction for infection –

They start in your lungs when you breathe

Until it comes at your tongue & will learn to speak

Against your careful & sincere alibis

In favor of the lust for attention heists

You think you know everything so well

From limbs to curves to the spell of swells

While you sleep with pure delusions,

& only dreams will confess misconceptions.

We make our own monsters,

The worst yet of the worst ever.

Verse 2

These arms of self preservation

This harm of self contemplation

This attraction for infection –

They go home to your locus of control

Until you call on dolls to drive away skeletons

Against your careful & sincere alibis

In favor of the lust for attention heists

You think you know everything so well

From limbs to curves to the spell of swells

While you sleep with pure delusions,

& only dreams will confess misconceptions.

We make our own monsters,

The worst yet of the worst ever.

I’m not cut for your defense mechanisms

I’m not cut for your defense mechanisms

I’m not cut for your defense mechanisms

I’m all cut for the demons you see in me that’s all in your head –

Hello Kitty

Written for Naj Garcia. See her blog @ http://justshutterup.wordpress.com/ 😀

A E F#m D Chord Pattern.

I.
Caught with lenses that glare like a crescent lunar curve
Her crazy flights, one with the sky, and drawn back to planet Earth
I said let’s grab the night with drinks reminiscent of endless seas
Watch waves point out which ships will sink & which dreams will swim
Endless rants, useless counsel, blacker dresses, unsure of the world
Fuck it, screw it, life is short, make it shorter she said

Chorus:
Tight tights paired with those Barbie eyes
She’s got that look without the feel of a million tries
Purr purr, hello Kitty purr, let’s ride and roll and chill tonight
Curiosity will kill one of us, so 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 more lives

II.
Taught with the palest, coldest block and a half boulder of ice
Her subtly salient words, one for the truth, more for the depth of lies
I said let’s fool the night with answers that are questions in disguise
Watch the most complete of phrases sink in, only to forget when the sun begins to rise
Endless rants, useless counsel, blacker tresses, readier for the world
Fuck it, screw it, life is short, make it shorter she said

->Chorus, Ad lib<-

Bridge:
(1) Curiouser and curiouser
(2) Closer and closer, cats and burglars
(3)Farther and further and for wear and tear and
(4)For friendships and fools and finite forevers and for feeling from
(5) Forsaken forks in the path, the angst, the wrath, the past, the masks, the trust, the seeing glass,
(6)Just ask.
(7)No hurries, no worries, no hesitation, leave the over-translations
(8) Just ask.
(9)Curiouser, and curiouser, just ask.
(Lives) (Curiosity will kill one of us, curiousity will kill one of us)
->Chorus<-

Sincerely,
Vivien Marie Lopez, (c) 3/8/2012.

Hentai-in Moko

Hentai-in Moko

A silly, silly Tagalogese song I wrote just because. You can actually do this with the stereotypical D-A-Bm-G chord pattern.

Illustrated by Patrick Pilar.

Ang syota ko’y mahilig sa babaeng hapones

Hentai ang trip sa mata sa boobs sa legs

Maputi maliit at kulay berde ang buhok

At umaayaw tuwing niyayayang magkantot

Malas niya lang nang ako ang nakuha niya

Hangga’t ohaiya gozaimas lang ang aking nakaya

Masyadong malandi at di marunong magpakipot

(Back to chorus)

Twenty one, twenty two:

Start the fire, forget the cruise.

We stay, twenty three

This island – isolated, undisturbed, virgin.

Naïve but pure, twenty four.

Evolutionary, naturalists’ detour.

Keep quiet, keep the safety dome

Twenty five, anything cruel won’t make the tomes.

Hide and seek, delete, survive

Twenty six, swallow and don’t get sick

Darkness has a way to keep you in line

The ignorance of what is outside, what is wild

Twenty seven, be trusting, be kind

Any secret is well kept, you won’t need eyes.

Don’t see, don’t hear, don’t speak,

Twenty eight, the future doesn’t have a lucky streak

Believe otherwise, twenty nine

You’re okay, I’m great, you’re best, I’m fine

Nothing to it really, thirty.

Bless the two people left, last ones in debt

Thirty one, it’s now either life or death.
